Tipperary Hill Shamrock Run -2014
Distance: 4 Mile
Cost: $20-$30 Pre registration – $40 race day
Hills/Course: Good training run for the Mountain Goat. Around the 1 mile mark you have a short half mile hill and then about a mile long hill starting around the 2.5 mile mark. Last half mile is fairly flat for a fast finish.
Crowd Support: Excellent crowd support along the route. There are people cheering from house parties on their lawn or Pubs along the course.
Scenery: It’s a early March race so the landscape scenery is mostly gloomy dirty snow. The course will take you through many of Tipp Hill’s favorite landmarks, including the world famous “Green-On-Top” traffic light, scenic parks, architecturally beautiful churches, and of course, Tipp Hill’s very popular Pubs.
Water Availability: One water stop at the 2 mile mark
After Party: Nothing beats a St. Patrick’s Day themed after party! Local Tipp Hill bars are very happy to host Shamrock runners.
Food: The regular race assortment foods are available at the race finish.
Prizes: Awarded to the top three overall finishers male and female, and the top male and female finisher from various age groups.
Shirt Quality: You get your choice of pint glass or tech shirt. This year’s color was lime green. We loved having the choice of pint glass or shirt!
Organization: The Tipperary Hill Neighborhood Association has been hosting this race for 9 years and every year you can see that they strive to make improvements. It is obvious that they are proud of their neighborhood and strive every year to continue to make improvements to this race.
Volunteers: Every race could use more volunteers.
Overall: A really fun race to run! This is the type of race that goes on your calendar every year. If you are a serious runner hoping for that PR or a runner just hoping to have a good time with friends this race comes highly recommended.
